Planning a Birthday Party? Here’s Why Mountpanther is a Brilliant Choice

If you’ve ever juggled invites, cake orders, and finding a venue that works for kids and parents alike, you’ll know it’s no small task. That’s exactly why we created our birthday packages at Mountpanther.

If you’re looking for a birthday party venue that’s fun, relaxed and full of adventure, Mountpanther Farm Park might be exactly what you need. Set just outside Newcastle in County Down, it’s a family-friendly spot that makes planning a party simple.

With a mix of animal encounters, play zones and open spaces, Mountpanther offers something a bit different to the usual soft play centre. It’s also an ideal option for anyone searching for “days out in NI”, “things to do in Newcastle in Co Down” or “family days out in NIespecially when there’s a celebration involved.

Here’s what makes it a great choice for your next party.

Two Affordable Party Packages

We offer two birthday packages, both packed with the essentials. They’re simple, good value, and make planning less of a headache.

The Standard Party Package – £12 per child

  • Minimum of 10 children and a maximum of 20
  • One hour in the party area
  • Hot meal included (nuggets or sausage with chips and a drink)
  • One free adult per paying child
  • Unlimited access to the rest of the park after the party
  • Option to add Slush Puppies for £1
  • Adult meals available at £3

It’s spot on if you’ve got a smaller bunch, it covers the essentials without overcomplicating things. Kids get fed, parents get a break, and everyone can enjoy the park for the rest of the day.

The Ultimate Party Package – £14 per child

  • Minimum of 12 children, maximum of 30
  • 90 minutes in the private VIP party space
  • Same meal choice as the standard package
  • Each child gets a Slush Puppy
  • Everyone receives a free return pass for another visit
  • Unlimited access to the park after the party
  • Optional £3 adult meal available

The ultimate package works well for larger groups or if you want a bit more time and privacy. Plus, the free return passes are a lovely extra, perfect for families already planning more days out in NI this season.

The Experience Goes Beyond Cake and Candles

One of the biggest draws of Mountpanther is that it doesn’t feel like a “birthday factory.” Kids aren’t rushed in and out. There’s room to explore and time to enjoy it properly.

Once the party food is sorted and the singing’s done, the day doesn’t end there. Mountpanther lets you make a full day of it. The park includes:

  • A petting barn with rabbits, guinea pigs, and even meerkats
  • A reptile room with snakes, tortoises, and geckos
  • A large play village for younger kids with mini shops and tractors
  • A go-kart track, sandpit, and huge outdoor bouncy pillow
  • The Mountpanther Playhouse – a mini version of the estate manor
  • Indoor inflatables for rainy days

That means whatever the weather, you’re covered. For parents searching for things to do in Northern Ireland with kids, especially at the weekend, this makes Mountpanther an easy win.

It’s Ideal for Groups with Mixed Ages

When planning a party, it’s common to worry about keeping both toddlers and older kids entertained. Mountpanther has a wide enough range of activities that everyone can find something to do.

Younger children love the role-play village and animals. Older kids often head for the assault course inflatable or the go-karts. Parents, meanwhile, get to enjoy a coffee from the Hungry Stag café or grab some fresh chips from the food hut.

Because there’s no rush to leave, guests can stay on and enjoy the park at their own pace. It’s a more relaxed alternative to the typical one-hour slot at indoor play centres.

The Setting Feels Special

Mountpanther is set just a few minutes from Newcastle, in the scenic County Down countryside. You’ve got space, fresh air, and great views, not something every birthday venue can offer.

That’s a huge bonus for families who want something more memorable than another soft play or leisure centre. It also ties into a growing trend where parents are looking for more nature-based or outdoor options for family days out in NI.

And if you’re visiting from outside the area, the park is well located. It’s a short drive from Dundrum, Castlewellan and the Mourne Mountains, making it easy to build a full day or weekend around the party. There’s no shortage of Newcastle Co Down activities to turn a birthday into a mini adventure.

Booking is Straightforward

To secure your party date, all you need is a £50 deposit. You can bring your own decorations (though party poppers, piñatas and confetti aren’t allowed), and the team at Mountpanther handles the rest.

Need adult food options? Sorted. Want to add something extra like animal feed tubs for £1 each? Easy.

Because it’s a family-run farm park, you’ll also deal with staff who care about your experience, not a call centre or booking system that’s hard to reach.

It’s a Hit with Kids and Parents

The biggest compliment we get? Hearing kids ask when they can come back. Thanks to the range of animals and play zones, many do. And thanks to the clear pricing and easy format, parents are happy to recommend it.

As the warmer weather arrives and more families look for things to do in Northern Ireland this weekend, birthday parties at Mountpanther often turn into repeat visits. With the added bonus of return passes in the Ultimate Package, it’s a smart option that keeps giving.

Start Your Party Planning with Mountpanther

Planning a child’s birthday party can be stressful, but it doesn’t need to be. Mountpanther takes care of the food, the space and the entertainment, all you need to do is show up with the cake. If you’re a local looking for things to do in Newcastle Co Down, this is one place that’s worth checking out. It’s fun, affordable, and genuinely different. And for parents searching for things to do in Northern Ireland with kids or wondering what’s on this weekend, Mountpanther offers something a little more special.

Great visit the fact you could go in amongst the animals is credit to the farm staff and shows the animals are well treated and looked after, wallaby being my all time favourite animal was absolutely amazing… my wife, daughter and her friend had an amazing time, and the fella who looked after on the tractor ride to the deer was a wealth of knowledge, telling us about the old house etc and how Donald trump tried to buy the place… we will difo be back

Grandchildren as ourselves thoroughly enjoyed whole day. Finally got to experience the tour down to the deer and helped feed them. Last year we went during rutting season. The young lad who gave the talk was exceptionally well versed in the life of the deer. I would highly recommend Mount Panther Farm for anyone to visit.

This is our second year in a row to visit Mountpanther Park and it never disappoints. Such a great family day out, all the staff are so friendly and informative about all the animals. I have to say this year I was very impressed with a lovely lady called Becky she was such a friendly person and told us all about the animals and nothing was too much trouble. She took out the guinea pigs after seeing my son had a teddy of 1. Both my sons love getting into see the goats as do I, it is such a fantastic place for family day out. Highly recommend and we can't wait to visit again.

Great space for kids- animals to feed Great price for the activities the kids could do- we spent about 3.5--4 hours here. You can bring your own picnic or there is somewhere I think you can buy food - we didn't so not sure what is available. Staff all very engaging with children and very helpful and polite, didn't wait for my boys to go to them, they came to us to ask them if they wanted to pet animals or talk to them

10/10 loved it! Both the adults & the kids, we spent the full day here as there is so much to do between feeding animals, talks, deer safari and a whole range of activities for kids like park play areas, go-karts & bouncy castles! Staff were lovely too, we will be back!
